January Polish Pickup: Mythology

Hello my Society Sisters! I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas! My family and I have been enjoying our time together, especially now that we're all over our colds. For this end of the year post I have five polishes from the upcoming January Polish Pickup. The Polish Pickup is a four-day event each month where dozens of indie nail polish brands create limited edition polishes inspired by the chosen theme. In addition to polishes there is now the "Indie Pickup" on the same website which offers cosmetics, hand & nail care, jewelry, etc, during the same dates. Let's take a look..

KBShimmer "Gaia"

Inspiration: Mother Earth, the Greek Earth goddess from whom everything is born.

A vibrant blue jelly base filled with holographic glitters and green/purple/pink/blue color shifting unicorn flakes. The formula is on the thicker side because it's packed with glitter and flakies, but it didn't create any issues. Shown is two coats plus top coat.

Painted Polish "Luna"

Inspiration: Roman Goddess of the Moon

A slate gray crelly with cobalt blue/purple color-shifting flakies. This applied easily with the flakies laying down smoothly. Shown is two coats plus top coat.

Colores de Carol "Sea Siren"

Inspiration: mermaids

A navy blue holographic base with aurora shimmer and multi-chrome magnetic effect that shifts aqua to purple. I had a hard time capturing it, but the purple shift is so pretty! Shown is two coats plus top coat.

Inspiration: Androgynous Myth

A light gray jelly filled with micro pink and gunmetal flakies, aurora pigment, iridescent and multichrome flakies, and holographic flakies. This is sheer but applies well and builds up nicely. Shown is three coats plus top coat.

Anchor & Heart Lacquer "Yggdrasil" 

Inspiration: Norse mythology, Yggdrasil is the "Tree of Life"

A pale spearmint green crelly with green to purple shifting aurora pigment, purple/magenta/orange shifting UCC flakies, and a sprinkle of red to purple shifting micro glitter. The formula is thin but not patchy and applied nicely. Shown is three coats plus top coat.
