Birthday Haul and Formula X for Sephora Swatches

Yay for birthdays and presents!! Here's a shout out to my friends and family who gave me nail polish or cash/gift cards, that obviously went to buying nail polish. So let's see what I got!

It would have been a little insane to swatch all of these for you guys, so I just went with three. I decided on the Formula X for Sephora polishes because it's a recently launched brand and you might  not be as familiar with those yet. On a similar note, this whole time I have been referring to them as "Sephora X". There was originally a Sephora X brand, and this Formula X has replaced it. I mislabeled it in my Formula X for Sephora Legend post (it's fixed now). I apologize for the confusion!! Next time if you notice something questionable, just give my head a good whack.

Formula X for Sephora Heroic: 2 coats, with topcoat

Described as lilac and gold metallic, Heroic is from Formula X's "Shifters" category. Another from the category is Legend that I swatched last month. Unlike Legend which only has the glitters that shift, Heroic has more of a duochrome quality.
I like that it has a silvery appearance, but actually contains gold flecks. The coverage looked great in person with only two coats. For the photos you can tell that I probably should have used three, but they looked fine to the naked eye. Retails for $12.50.

Formula X for Sephora Dusk: 2 coats, with topcoat

Dusk is part of the "New Classics" category. It's described as "sunset red pearl", which I guess isn't necessarily misleading, depending on your interpretation of "sunset". I would describe it as a pearly brick color, or even burnt red with pearl finish.
Whatever it is, it fills a gap in my stash, because I don't have another color like this. The application was really smooth, with good coverage in even just one coat. Retails for $10.50.

Formula X by Sephora Chaotic: 1 coat, with topcoat.

Shown over 1 coat of Sally Hansen Insta-Dri Rose Rum. Chaotic is part of the "Xplosives Top Coats" catergory. It is packed with multi-sized black and white glitters in a clear base. I believe there are five sizes of hex glitter in both black and white, as well as black bar glitter.
I was really surprised how much glitter stuck to the brush! As you can see, quite a big glitter payout. Retails for $12.50

Formula X for Sephora Legend Swatch

Hello All! Today I want to show you the new Formula X for Sephora Legend. It has been a long time since I've only had one nail polish in a post! Not since last month in my Most Used Polish post. It is certainly a far cry from wearing 18 polish in one manicure! So I can't help but feel that I'm cheating a little here. To make up for it, I have lots of pictures!

Formula X for Sephora is a new brand that launched this fall and can be found at, um, Sephora. This polish is from the brand's "Shifters" category. Sephora describes the category as "a two-toned metallic lacquer that shimmers with a kaleidoscopic effect."
I like that it is the "crushed microsparkles" that have the color shift, and the base metallic color essentially stays the same.

Legend is described as "maroon and rainbow metallic". I don't know about the maroon part. I feel that in all different lights it appears more of a plum.

This is two coats, but it was almost opaque in one coat. The application was nice and smooth. This is with top coat. Without it, it's not very shiny.

Sephora by OPI Haul

The reason I was able to contain myself and only buy one bottle of polish on that last trip was because I had a much bigger goal in mind...

I set a personal record for most nail polishes purchased in a single day! For a few weeks Sephora has been having a half-off sale on all their Sephora by OPI polishes. I had already bought a few on sale but today brought home the big haul. They are mostly all minis, so it doesn't look that big, and they were all half off so it's totally justified! I'm most excited about the Nailed It! set. I used to avoid buying minis because the application always takes longer with a little brush. But if I find a set that I love every single color it's hard to resist the great value.

The Sephora by OPI Nailed It! set included (from left to right, top to bottom): Nonfat Soy Half Caff, Already Famous, Havana Dreams, Break a Leg-Warmer!, It's Bouquet With Me, Bare To Be Different, Leotard Optional, Metro Chic, I'm Wired, and Mermaid To Order.

The colors in the Indian Summer set are (left to right): Paisley Attention To Me, What Aura Gonna Wear?, Seriously It's a Naan-Issue, and I'm So Sari! 

The colors in the Spice Market set are (left to right): I Think I Cayenne, Have You Met Rose Mary?, Justa' Pinch of Glitter, S-age Is Just a Number

The one full size polish I got is Looks Like Rain, Dear.

By the way, these are all on sale because the whole Sephora by OPI line is being discontinued. I really hope I don't fall too in love with any of these that I won't be able to replenish! Oh well, it was still completely worth it. :) Plus, I'm excited for their new Sephora X line!
