Glitzy Gradient Tips

Remember a couple weeks ago when I did my Glitzy Pinterest Nails? I said that you would probably see more combinations of these polishes in the future. Well it didn't take me long to do another one. My idea was to do a gradient with the cream and lilac colors. I knew it would be subtle as in, so-subtle-the-photos-don't-show-it, but I did it anyway. I still am working on my glitter gradients. I knew it would be hard with this polish because the glitter is so dense. But I managed! I love the sweet and girly party look with these. Even if I wasn't invited to any party...

I started with the base color of Orly Naked Canvas. Perfect name, don't you think? I wasn't sure if Orly Flawless Flush would be too sheer for a sponge gradient, but it ended it working well enough for my purposes. I sponged it on a number of times until it showed up as well as it was going to.

I tried to use a light touch with the glitter going down the nail, but laid it on pretty thick at the top. Finger Paints Crystalline Crush is a textured glitter, which can get really scratchy, so I put on at least two coats of top coat to try to get a smooth surface. I think I applied a little extra at the tips. It wasn't completely smooth, but it helped. I'm just not the biggest fan of the textured feel!

What I used:
Orly Naked Canvas -cream/nude with purple shimmer
Orly Flawless Flush -pastel lilac with gold shimmer
Finger Paints Crystalline Crush- rose gold and silver glitter/foil
Seche Vite top coat
makeup sponge

So which combination are you diggin' most? Do you like the variety of my previous one, or do you prefer the uniformity of this mani?

Thanks so much for reading!

  4. I love that! I've really taken to white and silver, and this is close enough to that to strike my fancy. So delicate and even work-appropriate, yet sparkly and fun :D I liked the other one too, but this one's certainly sweeter :)
