OPI Summer 2017 California Dreaming Collection

When I first saw the California Dreaming Collection I went a little gaga over it. I love the theme (California native), the names (of course), and so many of the shades. I received the collection courtesy of Octoly and fell deeper in love once I was able to try them all on. Read on to find out my favorites..

This Is Not Whine Country is a rich raspberry crelly. I am always drawn to berry shades, and this shiny and squishy finish makes it so dreamy. Application was smooth and easy. Shown is two coats, no top coat.

To The Mouse House We Go! is a warm tomato red crelly. Another squishy shade, and a nice variation from my normal red cremes. Application was smooth and easy. Shown is two coats, no top coat.

GPS I Love You is a saturated strawberry creme. This was my favorite name of the collection, isn't it clever? This was between two- three coats, no top coat.

Malibu Pier Pressure is a bright yet soft bubble gum pink creme. two thick coats didn't self level well so needed top coat to smooth it out.

Me, Myselfie & I is a fiery orange coral crelly. This is really similar Living On The Bula-Vard from the Fiji Collection, but a little more reddish. Shown is two coats, no top coat.

Santa Monica Beach Peach is an intense red leaning carrot orange crelly. Shown is three coats, no top coat.

Time For A Napa is a soft coral pink creme. Another really pretty shade that I'll be getting a lot of use from. Great formula, self leveled well. Shown is two coats, no top coat.

Excuse Me, Big Sur! is a dusty neutral rose creme. This reminds me of an old shade Nantucket Mist which was a deeper rose. It's my favorite of the collection and I'm wearing it on my toes right now. Another fantastic formula. Shown is two coats, no top coat.

Barking Up the Wrong Sequoia is a dusty nude peach creme. Another great formula and I love it so much! Shown is two coats, no top coat.

Feeling Frisco is Crayola Peach (that's what it reminds me of) creme. I know my skin looks a little sallow in the photo, but in real life it complimented my skin well. It applied really nicely for me and this was two coats, no top coat.

Sweet Carmel Sunday is a metallic bronze shimmer. This could be a lovely color but the finish is so brush-strokey that it really distracts from it. Shown is two coats, no top coat.

Don't Take Yosemite For Granite is a gunmetal gray with pearly shimmer. This is much less brush-strokey than Sweet Carmel Sunday and therefore just looks a lot better. Not one of my favorites, because the cremes are just so fab, but still quite lovely with its touch of brown/purple. Shown is two coats, plus top coat.

The California Dreaming Collection is available now at select salons and retailers such as Ulta and Sally Beauty.

My top picks of are
Excuse Me, Big Sur!, Time For A Napa, GPS I Love You, and This Is Not Whine Country. I think the only one you can go wrong with is Sweet Carmel Sunday. What are your favorite shades? Let me know in the comments below!

PS- I got this sweet train case (top photo) from my Octoly press sample. I've had people ask, but I don't know where you can buy it. Sorry!
