Today I have a fun post that I am excited to share with you! I have been having way too much fun making these nail polish ornaments! I've had a few fails but I am starting to get the hang of it. I've seen a few people make these and was interested but wasn't quite motivated until I saw this post by Nails Always Polished. Her ornaments looked so good because of the decorations she added to the outside of the ornaments. That was my original intent in starting these but I've still been too afraid to mess up any of my pretty ones.

18 Christmas/Holiday Nail Art Ideas
It's that time of year and Christmas is almost upon us! With all your hustling and bustling you may not have had much time for your nails. Well I hope you can find some time to relax and enjoy yourself. Of course one of my favorite ways to relax is to paint my nails! I've created some mostly simple nail art looks if you wanted to spice up your holiday manis. You can pick one look to do on each nail, just for an accent, or mix and match them. I hope you find a little inspiration here and enjoy all the festivities!

Formula X for Sephora Creme Swatches Part 2
Happy Monday everyone! How are your Christmas preparations going? I have so much that I wish I could get done, but I'm just too doggone tired! So I'm trying to just relax a little and do what I can.
Today I'm back with Part 2 of my Formula X for Sephora creme swatches. I'm going to jump straight to them, so for more information please refer to Part 1.

Colores de Carol Feliz Año
I'm back with another Colores de Carol polish today! This one is a special edition, a real party shade for the New Year! A quick word about the formulation- Colores de Carol polishes are all 5-free. Now let's take a closer look. I have lots of photos to show off all its angles!
Feliz Año (Happy New Year) is a "linear holographic clear base with platinum silver micro flakes". I love everything that's going on in this seemingly straightforward shade. The silver flakies are super reflective and then once you get it in the sunlight a delicate rainbow peeks through. The formula was nice and smooth. The application was good and I achieved the desired coverage in two coats.

Paint All The Nails: Secret Santa Edition
Aaa! I am so excited about this post! Let me tell you why. The awesome girls in the Paint All The Nails group that I'm a part of decided to participate in a special Secret Santa exchange (Very Emily was the evil genius behind this all). Instead of doing physical gifts though, we were randomly assigned to another blogger to pay tribute to a special look of theirs! So still a gift of sorts in a very unique way! There has been much anticipation leading up to today. Want to know who I got? My Secret Santa is...

Waves of Black Sand Nail Art by Lucy’s Stash
I have one final guest blogger this year, and a very special one at that. I am so very pleased to introduce Lucie of Lucy's Stash! I'm sure many of you are already fans of hers as I have been for quite some time! I follow her work for inspiration as she is always so creative and on trend. I'm really excited to have her here and just love the nail art she's created for this post.
Hi everyone, I’m Lucie, Lucy’s Stash and I’m so happy to be here
today and guest post for Emily! As she is enjoying the arrival of her baby
girl, she has asked me and other bloggers to contribute with some nail art
post. Emily is very lovely blogger and I feel so honoured that I could get to
know her a bit more.
I’ve decided to show you a textured look
that I called ‘Waves of Black Sand’ for obvious reasons ;) I really like
different textures and here I’m combining the ruff sand texture with smooth and
glossy nail polish. Let’s have a look at the manicure first:

Formula X for Sephora Creme Swatches Part 1
Hi ladies! I have some swatches of a brand I haven't featured for some time even though it's one of my favorites. Today's post is a LONG time coming. These photos have been chilling out in my computer since January! But I haven't forgotten about them, and today is their day to shine. Last Christmas I bought the Formula X for Sephora Paint the Town set. It contained a whooping 22 mini bottles of varying formulas. I usually try to stay away from minis because they never apply as well with their tiny brushes. Still this had so many polishes, I couldn't resist buying it so I could try them all. I feel like I don't see enough Formula X in the nail blog circuit. I know it's mainly because of its limited availability and partly because of the higher price ($10.50-$12.50). So I had planned on swatching the whole set for those who want to get a better idea of the polishes. The descriptions and images on Sephora's site aren't sufficient enough. I haven't gotten to all of them yet, but I did begin with all of the cremes since that's my favorite formula. These are all part of the permanent line and are categorized under "The Colors". The set contained eleven cremes which I have broken up into two posts.

Colores de Carol 2015 Winter/Holiday Collection
Hello my lovelies! I always get so excited when I get to share posts like this. Today I bring you the Colores de Carol 2015 Winter/Holiday Collection. The collection is made up of eight polishes and if you remember last year's Winter/Holiday collection, there is a similar variety of formulas and finishes in this one too. The whole thing says fun and festive, it really put me in the holiday spirit!

Guest Post By Paulina's Passions
Dzień dobry moi drodzy! I am just thrilled to share with you today's guest post brought to you by the amazing Paulina's Passions! I have been following Paulina's blog since I started blogging and have loved every single thing she does. Her manis are classy, photos are perfect, and she is the queen of florals. I have tried to recreate her magic on a few occasions including this attempt at her Nautical Rose Nails, one of my favorites of hers. My recreations are never quite up to snuff but I'll keep trying! It is no surprise that Paulina has created the perfect floral nail art once again, but this time it's for little ol' me! Squee!
Hi my lovelies. Here it's Paulina from Paulina's Passions. Today I am taking over Emiline's blog to show you a cute floral nail art. I am so excited to be here as I have been an admirer and reader of Emiline's blog for ages and she is one of of my favorite bloggers! As you may know she just had the cute, little baby Alice and to take some of the blog work off her shoulders I am writing a blog post for her. Let's take a look at some pretty flowers.

piCture pOlish Bordeaux
Hello and happy Friday everyone! Today's post is dedicated to piCture pOlish Bordeaux, a stunning 2015 collaboration shade by stockist Nil Nails. Bordeaux is described as a "dark wine jelly scatter holo" and was inspired by the "rich texture, charming atmosphere, wine colour derived from the famous wine region." If you're a fan of red you will LOVE this one. And if you're not a red fan, you just may be now. The warm and rich earthiness of this one give it a sensuousness that I can't resist. (Apologies if that sounds ridiculous but it's true!)

Guest Post by Very Emily
I'm so excited to share with you another fabulous guest post! Today's post is brought to you by my wonderful friend Emily from Very Emily. I am so happy to have her grace my blog once again. I am such a huge fan of all she does, although she's a terrible enabler that makes me want to buy everything she wears! Take it away Emily!
Hi everyone! I'm Emily from the blog Very Emily and I am super excited to be here on Nail Polish Society today! This isn't my first time gracing Emiline's blog. I did a guest post for her last year when she was celebrating her 1st blogiversary. She also has cause for celebration this time, the birth of her gorgeous baby girl Alice. She is just so precious! Of course I had to do some pink nails, dedicated to baby Alice!

Guest Post by Cubbiful
I have another guest post to share with you! Today's guest is the sweet and talented Mina from Cubbiful. I have been following her blog for some time now and have more recently gotten to know her better. I am very excited to have her here! Mina inspires me with some of the cutest nails (have you seen this darling little polar bear?) It's no surprise then that this creation is so adorable! Let's take a look-
Hello, lovelies!
I'm so happy to be here today, thank you so much, Emily, for opening your little corner for my crazy self. I bring a special mani for Emily and her most beautiful creation: her baby girl, Alice - let's take a look:

Paint All The Nails Presents Dry Brush
Happy Thanksgiving!!! I have SO much to be thankful for this year, including all of you wonderful people! Today's post is my second Paint All The Nails link up and I think it will result in some really amazing manis like the last one did (view it here)!
When the theme for this month was chosen I decided to cheat a little and use a mani that I hadn't posted yet. It's not as ambitious as I might have aimed for, but not having the stress was worth it.

Autumn Dotticure With Barry M Polishes
Happy Monday everyone! I have some super simple, yet oh so seasonally appropriate nail art for you today. I used a couple untrieds for this mani- Barry M Watermelon and Chili- that my mom brought back from London for me earlier this year. I asked her to get me some Barry M but didn't tell her which colors and those were the two she chose. They're not in my usual taste as colors go, but I really liked them once I tried them on! They go together so well too.

piCture pOlish Whimsy
I have a quickie post for you today. Here is a swatch of piCture pOlish Whimsy that has been sitting in my files for months now. Time to break it out! One thing that I love about this polish is that it's totally wearable in every season! Don't you think it would look great with some Winter themed nail art?

Guest Post by Serenity Nails
Happy Friday! In my last post I mentioned that I would be featuring some upcoming guest posts. I am so happy to present my first from Christine of Serenity Nails! Christine is a talented blogger who I aspire to match in her photography skills and her writing (you should know by now- my least favorite part!). I'll let her introduce herself, and you can see what I mean:
Hi lovelies!
Hi lovelies!
I am so excited to be here on Emily’s blog today to share a little bit of something with you. But first, of course, let me introduce myself. I am Christine and I run a little blog out of Australia called Serenity Nails. Because I was completely unorganized I am sharing a simple swatch of a polish I picked up recently and some easy stamping I did with it. If you know me, you might know I’ve been on a little Emily de Molly kick lately. Emily de Molly is based out of Australia and produces stunning selections each month! First off I have swatches of the polish that stars in this mani. This is called The Glaring and was released back in September.

Spell Polish Swatches and Review
Hey there! Today I have for you some swatches of a brand that was new to me, Spell Polish. With this post complete I'm hoping to finally be guilt free. I've been hanging on to these photos for months and it's been bothering me so bad that I haven't published them! Now they're here so let me tell you a little more about the brand.

Bewitching Water Marble Featuring PiCture POlish Imperial
It's about time I did some kind of nail art, specifically Halloween related nail art. The great thing about this mani is that it's not obviously Halloween so it looks good any time of year! I've worn Imperial on it's own before (swatched here), and I am still as in love with it as I was before.

By Dany Vianna Swatches
Hello lovelies! Today I have four gorgeous glitter polishes to share with you. These are made by the talented Dany Vianna and I loved every single one! The packaging is super cute too, which is always a fun bonus. Each polish applied easily and evenly with a good spread in just one coat. They are each in a clear base and I have them shown over opaque polishes. Let's take a look!

Colores de Carol Happy Hour Collection
Hello? Is anyone out there? It's been... WHAT?? FOUR MONTHS since my last post?!! Aaa, you guys, this was not how my blogging year was supposed to go. My last post way back in June explains what I had been up to, and I'll give you a little more update:
I moved twice, and in between moves I didn't have a computer set up. I'm finally settling in to my house, which I love by the way. Now I have the internet and my computer with all my photos that I've had saved from months ago. The other thing is that I'm still pregnant, but not for much longer. I have no idea what it's going to be like trying to do my nails with a new baby, so I guess we'll just wait and see.
Now that we're all caught up, I am so glad I can finally show you this collection that I think is fantastic. I swatched it right before I moved and it's been patiently waiting to be shown.

ALIQUID Lacquer Partial Austentatious Collection
I've waited for sooo long to post these photos. I know, I seem a little flaky (haha, get it? Hint: look at the nail polish) lately, I'm sorry. BUT I have three good reasons:
- We had about three solid weeks of rain with unpredicatable sunshine (making direct sunlight photos
difficultimpossible). - I'm in the middle of Part 1 of a two part move. After living in our two-room condo for almost 12 years we are looking for something bigger because...
- I'm pregnant! This is number three for us. So for a couple months there I had been sick and tired. I'm over the nausea, and now I'm just tired and stupid (making writing 100x harder than it already is for me).

A England Crown of Thistles
Hiya! It's been quite some time since I've posted anything, I know. So this is me saying.. I'm back! I'm feeling a bit rusty, so I'm going to make this real short and sweet. I'm working on new content now, so here is one from my draft folder. Isn't it stunning?!!
A England Crown of Thistles is an amazing holographic purple. As usual with this brand, the formula is buttery smooth with no issues. One coat gives great coverage, for photos I used two coats, no top coat. Photos are in direct sunlight.

Orly Mirrorball Springtime Skittle
Happy Spring everyone! I hope the weather is as beautiful in your part of the world as it is in mine today. I know it's officially been Spring for awhile but this is the first nail art I've done this year that is perfect for the season. (Fortunately I had the foresight to do this mani before my smashed hand incident) This was my first time using Orly Mirrorball and I thought it went perfectly with the pastel shades. Those featured pastels are the three Maybelline Color Show polishes that I won from Imperfectly Painted's giveaway. Thanks again Stephanie!

Colores de Carol Spring Gala 2015 Collection
First things first, I need to apologize for being so inactive on my blog this month. Secondly, I really need to apologize for the quality of this post. My kitchen remodel is finally done- yay! In the midst of things, I thought I'd lend a helping hand (big mistake) and ended up getting my fingers smashed between a refrigerator and a door frame. I will spare you the details, just know it wasn't a pretty picture. Not knowing how long it would take my fingers to heal, and needing to get some swatching done, I went with my only other option. So please forgive me for my weird nail shape, inconsistent poses, and wonky application. It was not easy working with my other hand!
Okay, now that we've gotten through that long explanation, let's talk about the nail polishes. Today I have for you the Colores de Carol Spring Gala 2015 Collection. It consists of seven crelly and pastel mini glitter polishes. I was excited to try these out because I really don't have any others like them.

Oh What Luck! St. Patty's Day Mani
Hello everyone! My kitchen remodel is all done, and it looks great. We're trying to put things pack together and I'm still getting used to the changes. Adjusting takes a lot of mental energy for me in my old age.
I have one more St. Patrick's Day mani for you. Growing up I never liked this holiday because of the requisite wearing of my least favorite color- green. I can't say I like the holiday any better now, but I am pretty happy with how this mani came out.

Colores de Carol Gilded Shamrock March Exclusive
Today I have another green for you, one that for me is very wearable as greens go. Starting this month Colores de Carol will be releasing "color of the month" polishes, that are only available the month of their release. This is the first one for March, very appropriate for St. Patrick's Day.

Feeling Irish For A Day With Zoya Staasi
Hey everyone! I feel like it's been so long since I've posted! I have been going through a kitchen remodel and it has made life more complicated than usual. It's coming along well though, and I'm so excited for a new kitchen! With the tiny bit of extra energy that I've had, I did some simple nail art.

Colores de Carol 50K Swatches and Review
Hey ladies! I have been patiently waiting all week to swatch this gorgeous polish. I've been willing my nails to grow faster after last week's nail break. This bottle has been sitting in front of my computer since I got it, staring me down. Finally I couldn't wait anymore and I'm so excited to share it with you!

Arcane Lacquer Willow and Little Supernovas
Happy Monday everyone! I had a dramatic nail break last week. Boo!! So instead of creating new content I dug through all my draft posts and found these two Arcane Lacquer polishes. Why have I never posted these swatches?! I don't know, but it's about time I gave them some attention because they are GORG-E-OUS! I dare you to disagree with me.

Philly Loves Lacquer Springtime in Philly Collection
Ladies and gentlemen, are you all ready for some gushing? I have for you today the Philly Loves Lacquer Springtime in Philly Collection. Why am I so excited about this collection? Well Esther, creator of PLL has made some really original, unique, and gorgeous shades that are just perfect for spring in a not-so-expected way. This was my first time trying PLL polishes and wasn't sure what to expect. Let me tell you, I was impressed by all of these.
The Springtime in Philly Collection is comprised of seven polishes with a variety of finishes including five pastel micro glitters, one chrome micro glitter, and one flakie top coat. Each one, excluding the flakie top coat, is designed to be worn on its own.

Jenna Hipp I Cast A Spell On Blue With Water Marble Accent
Hey guys! How you all doing? I'm pretty stoked right now because I just bought plane tickets to Washington for a visit back home in a couple months. Yay! I can't wait to see my family and friends. So anyway, about the nails. I love this mani! The combination of dark blue and the bright accent nail is a fun contrast. I was also soo pleased about how the water marble turned out. I got this on the first try!

Hello lovelies! Today I have the Colores de Carol swatches I promised you the other day. Let me tell you, when I opened up this package and unwrapped each polish, there was much oohing and ahhing going on. Let's take a closer look and I think you'll see why.

Signed, Sealed, Delivered, I'm Yours Valentine
Dearest Society Sisters,
Happy Valentine's Day! I have one last VDay mani, and then I promise no more until next year. I was going to write you a poem to go along with this post but it never got finished. It's probably better that I don't use up all my good ideas now and that I save some for later, right?

Punk You Valentine's Day!
I've done a lot of cute and saccharine Valentine's Day manis up until now. Romantic relationships aren't always a rose garden though. In fact, I had my first heartbreak right before the holiday, as I recalled in this post last year. Sometimes this holiday is just a reminder of heartbreak and bitterness. And really, there's not much worse than that. For those singing the anthem of "Love Hurts", I've created some angsty punk rock nails for you.

Love Letters From The Penitentiary: Free Valentine's Day Printables For Your Jailbird Sweetheart
As proof that not ALL of my time is wasted spent doing my nails, I have a different kind of post for you today. You may know that pen palling is a long-time hobby of mine. I have an affinity for stationary and greeting cards, and have quite the collection.
There is something great about finding that perfect card that says just what you want to convey. Sometimes though, you can't find a card for a specific occasion or recipient. The lack of variety and options is almost criminal. I'm an equal opportunity kind of person when it comes to all occasion greeting cards. Everyone needs a way to express their love- the friend, the parent, the lover, the incarcerated. I think there is a certain niche that the card-making conglomerate has missed out on. This is my attempt to rectify that situation.
********************************
Graphic design and I aren't friends. We're not even acquaintances. Luckily I have a brilliant sister April who has these skills in her wheelhouse. We teamed up to create these printable Valentine cards for your enjoyment. I have for you a series of four cards, in four design themes to choose from:

Fade Into You Valentine Gradient
In case you couldn't tell by my recent manis, or the calendar, Valentine's Day is almost here. Do you have any special plans? Dinner with your sweetheart? Partying with your girlfriends? Cuddling with your kitty? The hubby and I have plans to do something. We just haven't planned what that something is yet. We prefer to avoid the crowds and celebrate before or after the 14th. Something about mobs of hungry people just doesn't say "romance" to me. If you are braving the crowds and don't have dinner reservations, I have a helpful tip. After three+ years of working as a hostess I can tell you it doesn't hurt to attempt a little bribery. Or if you're not into that, you might want to bring some crackers to munch on while you wait two hours for your table.

ALIQUID Lacquer Gloss48 Exclusive Collection Swatches and Review
Hello lovelies! I have some newly acquired ALIQUID Lacquers that I'm so excited to show you. These polishes were recently launched as an exclusive collection for Gloss48, an indie cosmetics site. The collection consists of six shades, four of which I have to for you today.

A England Rose Bower By Any Other Name
Today's Valentine mani is a departure from all the pink ones I've done of late. This romantic look features the beautiful a england Rose Bower. A england is a brand that makes such gorgeous polishes, you don't really want to wear anything else with them! I wanted to do a little nail art, but still keep it simple to show off Rose Bower in its full glory.

Lovey Dovey Valentine
Another Valentine's Day mani! I can't get enough of the MoYou London Festive 19 plate. The images are just so cute! They make me feel all warm and fuzzy inside. I don't know about you, but I need all the bright and happy things I can get in these winter months. And chocolate. Any holiday that involves chocolate is a good holiday.
