Polish Pickup August 2019: At the Carnival

Hello lovelies! This month's Polish Pickup is inspired by carnivals and there are so many pretty shades to choose from! Some of these polishes have a limited amount available so I would get your wish list in order and be ready to go come Friday morning. I know I'm ready! Let's get to the swatches..

Glisten & Glow "Spinning on the Sizzler"

Inspiration: Fun nights at the Carnival in the summer heat, the spinning motion of the Sizzler ride and the blur of the colors and lights!

Price: $11, 415 cap

A jewel toned, purple jelly polish is loaded with purple/blue/teal/pink color shifting iridescent flakes, holo flakes and pink/red/copper/green aurora shimmer. Shown is two coats plus top coat.

KBShimmer "Mirror Mirror In the Stall"

Inspiration: paper-framed mirrors from the 80’s and 90’s
Price: $10, no cap

A silvery shade loaded with micro holo flakes, and aurora shimmer that shifts from gold, to pink, to green. When I originally received this shade I swatched it and noticed some tiny clumps appearing on the nail and those are the photos shown. KBShimmer has since solved that issue and sent me a new bottle which is the one in the photo below. So application should be nice and smooth. Shown is two coats plus top coat.

Cupcake Polish "Texas Star"

Inspiration: The Texas Star Ferris Wheel at the State Fair of Texas

Price: $13

A black jelly nail polish filled with silver holographic flakies and blue iridescent and multichrome flakies. I had issues with it applying lumpy but was able to get it to smooth some with top coat. Shown is two coats plus top coat.

BLUSH Lacquers "Le Cirque des Rêves"

Inspiration:  The Night Circus novel by Erin Morgenstern

Price: $11

A black base polish with a violet-pink to red-orange to gold shifting shimmer and holo flakes. The shimmer and flakes show up more dimensional in person and is really pretty. The formula was nice and smooth. Shown is two coats plus top coat.

Different Dimension "Come One, Come All"

Inspiration: Dusk at the carnival welcomes everyone

A steel blue crelly based polish packed with pink/orange/copper/gold color shifting iridescent flakies, red/green/orange aurora shimmers, holographic microflakies and holographic microglitters. Different Dimension has been making many of these complex shades and I am all about them. I think this shade is just stunning. Shown is two coats plus top coat.

Different Dimension Cuticle Oil Pen "On The Midway"

Inspiration: Smells on the Carnival Midway

On The Midway is a custom blended fragrance cuticle oil that smells just like the moment you step onto the carnival midway, with notes of kettle corn, candy apples, cotton candy and lemon shakes.

An indigo crelly base, duochrome shimmer crystal ucc and ucc flakies. The base is pretty sheer but build up to opacity on that final coat. Shown is three coats plus top coat.

Inspiration: Floriade. Floriade is an annual, month-long celebration of spring, held in Canberra, Australia.

A purple base filled with pink/gold/green/aurora shimmer and silver holographic micro glitters. Shown is two coats plus top coat.

Inspiration: Mommy Fortuna's Midnight Carnival from The Last Unicorn

A midnight violet with a strong red to orange to bronze multichrome sheen. Shown is three coats plus top coat.

Colores de Carol "Feather Parade"

Inspiration: Bahamas Carnival
Price: $12.50, no cap

A hot pink to violet solar polish with Aurora shimmer and UCC flakes. This shade changes color from hot pink in indoor lighting or shade, to violet in direct sunlight. Shown is three coats plus top coat.
