Hello Society Sisters! Of course being an 80's baby, I have to be excited about this month's Polish Pickup 1980's theme! In case you are unfamiliar, the Polish Pickup is a four-day event each month where dozens of indie nail polish brands create limited edition polishes inspired by the chosen theme. In addition to polishes there is the "Indie Pickup" on the same website which offers cosmetics, hand & nail care, jewelry, etc, during the same dates. Let's take a look..

Anchor & Heart Lacquer "Make Dreams Come True"

Inspiration: The original Muppet Babies cartoon 
Price: $13, no cap

A periwinkle super linear holo with strong turquoise shimmer, a pink/orange aurora shimmer, plus a dusting of orange/gold/pink iridescent flakies and pink micro flakies. I'm a huge Muppets fan, and even though I wasn't that into the Muppet Babies this certainly brings back the nostalgia. Shown is three thin coats plus top coat.

Quixotic Polish "Garbage CANDY"

Inspiration: Garbage Pail Kids

Price: $11.50

"A bloody vermillion base with chunks of booger-green to moldy-blue shifting shimmer and slimy iridescent flakes to match. Scary Mary may have farted some holo dust in there too." Lol, I love this description. I don't have many memories of the Garbage Pail Kids but my husband was a fan. Shown is two coats plus top coat.

Inspiration: Hank from Dungeons and Dragons animation

A leaf green crelly filled with golden shimer, gold metallic flakies and gold UCC flakies, and holographic flakies. This show started the year I was born so it's a little lost on me. Shown is two coats plus top coat.

Painted Polish "Glow, Baby Glow"

Inspiration: The gorgeous wrestling ladies of GLOW!

Price: $12.50, 200 cap

A bright purple holo microglitter with added silver ultra holographic galaxy glitters and cobalt blue color-shifting flakies. This has a clear base and would look really pretty over a base color! Shown is three thin coats plus top coat.

KBShimmer "The Brite Stuff"

Inspiration: Rainbow Brite

Price: $10, no cap

A bright blue (cold) to white (warm) thermal with a rainbow of small glitters. Each bottle will come with a bag of star glitters! Okay, this one is just so super fun! One of my very favorite costumes from when I was little was a Rainbow Brite one. Shown is three coats plus top coat.

KBShimmer "Wacky Watermelon Popping Bath Powder"

Inspiration: Pop Rocks

Price: $10, no cap

"We started with pure luxurious cocoa butter and then added moisturizing coconut milk powder for a silky, skin-softening soak. Using the provided scoop, add to water and listen to the magic popping sound while the cocoa butter melts into the warm water. The sweet and tart watermelon fragrance scents the inviting foam just waiting to moisturize your skin! Use 1-2 scoops as a hand or foot soak, or add 3-4 scoops from the 9.5 oz bag for a decadent bath."
The popping sound is really subtle so don't expect fireworks. The foam is really thick and luxurious and the scent is a sweet bubblegum watermelon that isn't too strong.

Colores de Carol "Super Fighting Robot"

Inspiration: Mega Man
Price: $12.50, 250 cap

A dark blue (cold) to light blue (warm) thermal with red shimmer, UCC flakes, and electric blue micro flakes. I think I was a little too warm because I struggled getting the polish to stay in its cold state. So it gets a bit deeper than my photos show. Shown is three coats plus top coat.
