Polish Pickup June 2019: Weather Phenomena

Hello hello! For some untold reason my baby has decided to fight every single nap this week so posting has been difficult. The Polish Pickup goes live tomorrow though so I better get this post up! I have been voting for the weather theme for months so I was very happy when it was finally chosen. I am fascinated by weather phenomena, especially storms, and just knew there'd be some gorgeous polishes this month. Let's take a look..

Colores de Carol "Purple Rain"

Inspiration: Prince's Purple Rain
Price: $12.50, no cap

A medium grape purple with aurora shimmer (purple/pink), UCC flakes (blue/purple/red/gold), and shifting iridescent flakes. This had a nice thin and smooth formula and has so many pretty angles to it. Shown is three thin coats plus top coat.

KBShimmer "What Does This Mean?"

Inspiration: Double Rainbow
Price: $10, no cap

A dusty Caribbean blue base loaded with holo glow flakes and red-to-green aurora shimmer. Seriously a must-have this month! The polish is just stunning and the name tickles me. That's an OG Youtube video right there! Shown is three thin coats plus top coat.

KBShimmer "After The Rain Sugar Scrub"

Inspiration: Double Rainbow
Price: $10, no cap

Boldly swirled with seven different colors, After The Rain sugar scrub is a blend of sweet melons, juicy raspberries, cool lemonade, fresh cracked coconut and raw sugarcane - if rainbows had a scent, I imagine they would smell like this! The scent is nice and inoffensive. I really like the feel of the scrub- not harsh, but I feel like I get a good amount of exfoliation. We highly suggest that you do not let this sit in a hot mailbox, as the oils will float to the top. If that happens, let it cool, then scoop farther down into the jar to get to the desired amount of sugar for use.

Painted Polish "Ice & Fire"

Inspiration: Game of Thrones: Song of Ice & Fire
Price: $12.50, 350 cap

Features red, gold and copper color-shifting flakies in a light blue crelly base. A nice formula, I love how obvious the inspiration is. Shown is three coats plus top coat.

Anchor & Heart Lacquer "Sea Smoke"

Inspiration: sea smoke, a weather phenomena that takes place when very cold air moves over warmer water.
Price: $12, no cap

A gray crelly base packed with orange/pink/gold iridescent flakies, blue glass fleck flakies, and micro/small glitter in navy blue, black, and gray. Well shoot, I forgot to write it down. I think this was three coats?

Anchor & Heart Lacquer "Hazy Bit of Light"

Inspirationsea smoke, a weather phenomena that takes place when very cold air moves over warmer water.

Price: $10.50, 200 cap

A matte topcoat, dressed up with a heavy dose of copper shimmer and orange/pink/gold iridescent flakies. How cool is this? I've never had a matte topper like this before. The formula was really good and not thick like some matte top coats can be. Shown is one coat over Essie Anchor Down.

Girly Bits "Black Blizzard"

Inspiration: A dust storm
Price: $13, 300 cap

A thermal polish that transitions from a dark grey in the cold state to a light grey/clear in the warm state. It’s filled with strong green/pink/copper color shifting shimmer, iridescent blue micro-flakes, and larger iridescent micro-flakes that shift in a glowy blue-purple hue. This was a tough one to capture, there is so much going on! Shown is two coats plus top coat.

by Dany Vianna "Dew On Sunrise"

Inspiration: morning dew
Price: $12, 100 cap

A very light blue-grey filled with gold shimmer, aurora pigment, and holographic flakies. That aurora pigment has a really pretty soft glow that was so hard to capture. Shown is three coats plus top coat.

Each polish will be available May 3-6th (or until cap is reached) exclusively at polishpickup.com.

What shades will you be picking up this month? I know my wishlist is the longest it has ever been! Help me!
