Funkedelic Stamping

I have another stamping mani for you today! I love how striking it turned out! I don't know how long it will take me to perfect my stamping skills, but I am getting there! Basically I am at the stage where it looks good enough for me to think it looks pretty darn cool. I hope you agree!

I started with a white base color and let it dry a little. Then for all the color polishes I used the dry-brush technique. Essentially I wiped off the brush on the rim of the bottle to remove all of the excess polish. Then I dragged the brush in random spots two or three times on each nail. I repeated this with each color until most of the white was covered. I put a top coat on next to make sure the color was dry before stamping. The black design was made by stamping with my Cici and Sisi Jumbo Series #1 Plate 05. I finished with a last coat of Seche Vite top coat.

What does this look like to you? The whole time I wore this all I could think of was "psychedelic leopard". I finally asked my husband what it looked like to him, and his exact words were, "a psychedelic leopard". I was just a little shocked over our brainwaves connecting like that. Sure, we've been married for over ten years, so you would think it would happen on a regular basis. Let me tell you, it's kind of rare.

What I used:
Sephora by OPI White Hot- white
Ulta Blue Streak- royal blue
Barry M Papaya- melon
Love, Charlotte XO (turquoise-mint shade)
China Glaze Metro Pollen-tin- orange yellow
Konad Special Polish Black
Seche Vite top coat
Cici and Sisi Jumbo Series #1 Plate 05

What do you think? I'm tempted to do about 10 different versions of this mani because I love it so much!

  1. I am amazed. I try to think of cool and clever things you could do and usually come up with... Nothing! But you are always so creative!

  2. I'm always amazed at your grasp of color. I would never think to put all those colors together, but they look awesome! Do you have any photos of your nails prior to stamping them?

    1. Thank you! I did think of taking some photos before I did the stamp, but I guess it never happened!
